It looks like it starts with an exhibit/epigraph, too. Is that also unusual for a ruling?

It’s such a bizarre thing to say that I can’t *not* read it as a weird euphemism.

I don’t mean to discourage anyone from writing more! I just don’t want RSS and Atom to go away 😅

Yeah, very fair point. And most people *want* to be able to favorite posts, or reply to them, or repost them! RSS/Atom is the right trade-off for me as a blogger with a small audience, but it is still a trade-off.

I think the big advantage of RSS/Atom is that they’re just static files. Like, obviously they don’t support favoriting or replying, but they also don’t need a separate server+database like AP or ATProto. You can serve a feed from an S3 bucket or a CDN!

You mean feeds like RSS and Atom? They’re still going strong, from everything I can see 🙂

I'm so tired of hearing that we need to "teach our students how to use AI" when the thing they most need to use it is a critical-thinking skill set that can only be acquired by NOT using it. I'm tired of hearing that it's inevitable. I'm tired.
