It's absurd that it's still carrying a 3.5 billion market capitalization but they have 1.3 billion in cash against 900 million in long term debt so they can burn 50 million a quarter for a long time. The idea of that potential grift is dying, and the market reflects as such

A 60 year old couple with 85k income but not covered under an employer plan is, like... the Trumpiest demographic not explicitly filtered by race or education. Their annual ACA costs will go up $22.6k (!!!!) and I don't think anyone in the GOP is fully prepared for the realization to hit

Yeah sure Berger makes zero mention of thermal management in his Ad Copy but he does note that Data Centers use a lot of power! But then in the interest of being 'fair and balanced' he also cites some VC dweeb who says "but starlink satellites are, like, wicked sick!"

A single Nvidia 8x B200 rack, with no power, cooling, housing or radiation shielding weighs 142 kg, which would cost $480k for lift using the Falcon 9 (the most efficient craft with only marginal improvements even possible), which is about the price of the entire rack ($500k)
this is so dumb

The Ars Space commentariat has turned feral (compliment) in the past 6 months but sadly the Mod Banhammer still comes for anyone who explicitly calls Eric out on his transparent cheerleading. He should not be employed in his current capacity it is nakedly unethical

The same day Elon Musk claimed that Tesla would have a flying car next year (?), SpaceX hypeguy and editor of Ars Technica(wtf???) Eric Berger uncritically promoted a Musk 'Data Center in Space' scam that defies everything that is known about thermodynamics and newtonian physics

With the company at risk of losing the HLS NASA moon contract for Artemis, SpaceX slapped together more Unreal Engine rendered slop and posted it to Twitter. They are absurdly behind and the money's already been largely spent
