Quite a change for me as I like to do bright colourful maximalist work. So it’s making me think about how I see, how much is too much etc

The course is about fighting the need for perfection and keeping things fairly simple

Been doing an art course focusing on layers, monotone, markmaking, building up & pushing back. Fighting the need for perfection.
It’s making me look at how I see things.
I’ve applied the ink using a thin stem and used carbon paper & nib to draw the spoon.

Finally!
First time using this pattern.
Be Graceful by Ellie and Mac.
I raised the neckline slightly- will raise more next time. I lengthened the bodice and the skirt- will do more next time. The sleeves are a bit too tight so will change that.

Just got to lovely #Normandy a few days ago. The automatic watering system has kept the tomatoes going. So now I think we'll be eating them every day until we come back. The flavour is fabulous.

My latest, and last for the time being, Envelope dress by Cris Wood Sews. I love wearing this style. I made it slightly shorter than my other dresses. Tights by Snag tights.

Here is my latest #envelopedress by #criswoodsews a low waste pattern.
I love this viscose from Dalston Mills but ideally I'd have bought more to make it slightly longer. Unfortunately they only seem to sell by the metre so it would be a lot of waste. 2m makes a dress.

Look at these beauties I found hiding away at the back of the garden!
Sorry about the wheely bin in the background but we'd been filling it up with garden rubbish.
Glorious aren't they? #garden #plants #flowers

Colossal storm here in Normandy- the same as last week except I didn't ask anyone around for aperos in the garden this time ☺️

Had planned to have a few drinks outside with a friend this evening. A huge thunderstorm made us have them inside. Never mind

In beautiful Normandy at the moment and we sleep in the loft which only has 1 layer of sellatex and black slates so it does get hot in here. Not sure it would be quite the thing to paint the slates white. ☺️

This will be tea tonight with a salad.
The quiche is cauliflower, onion, mustard, creme fraîche, capers, eggs and cheese. Homemade pastry too.
Tastes divine! 😋

My latest kaftan style summer dress. It's the zero waste pattern by Cris Wood Sews. I've made 4. Ideal for summer and they look elegant. I need to make some shorter ones for tops. A quick and easy make.
Fabric is from Textile Express but I had the last of the roll at £5/m ☺️

Finally finished this baby quilt. Not perfect but improved from my other quilts.
I love it! #quilt #quilting #sewing #crafts

Trying to put the layers together today. But there's always one block that turns out a bit different!
Too late to change it now!🙄

When one of my nieces or nephews has a baby I make a family baby quilt. My mums symbol was an elephant so I like to include some in each quilt.
