I'd written many screenplays & NEVER used "we see" or "we hear" and thought it was a terrible thing to do. In 2018 I Optioned my first script, and I thought, "Holy crap, I made it! I'm a paid screenwriter!" I was paid 350 bucks. The Option expired a few years later with nothing to show for it. #Screenwriters, have you ever mistakenly thought you'd "made it" and how long did it take for reality to set in?

Our industry has taken some real hits lately, and for some, the Hollywood dream has never seemed further away. But the best way to make it and heal the town at the same time is by crafting great original stories. I believe in all of us. #Scriptsky #screenwriting

The number one advice any & every writing professional can & will give you is this:

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SUCK.

You have spent years reading books, watching movies & TV, developing taste to know good from bad. NO ONE GETS TO READ YOUR WRITING UNTIL YOU LET THEM. Trust your taste & write fearlessly.
