If you tell Duolingo that you're depressed, it will cancel your lesson. I was just trying to practice my terms for understanding French songs like "Je fume des clopes dans un blockhaus noir parce que je suis déprimé" (I smoke cigarettes in a dark bunker because I'm depressed).

I have the same problem at my house, but fortunately my bearded dragon also suffers when it's below 65 so I argue on his behalf.

My daughter gets upset because there are more pics of Henry in my camera roll than of her, but he's so photogenic!!! Not that she isn't, but she's often scowling.

I think Duolingo needs to modify their algorithm to assume a user is trying to use a relevant word based on the context of the conversation. I tried to say "violet," but Duolingo interpreted it as "violer" i.e. violence and shut down the conversation. But Duolingo asked me if I like violet lamps!

This is a fascinating article about how microplastics were present in caddisfly larva casings from the 70's, but I also love the Dutch scientist's crazy hair and the row of owls behind him.

I really need to work on my pronunciation. I thought I said "I like to cook omelettes because I have a big kitchen," but the AI chatbot interpreted it as "I like to cook men because I have a big kitchen."

Omelettes doesn't even sound like hommes 🤦‍♀️

It's nice that he's so optimistic, but this seems crazy among the articles today where the executive branch is openly ignoring judicial decisions.

I was looking for plastic free salt. This AI summary states: "satisfied with plastic content and versatility." Whoops!

It's a white Christmas in Millcreek Canyon!

I experienced this driving up Emigration Canyon today. The coldest point in the middle of the mountain was 19 F and the trailhead at a much higher elevation on the top was 22 F!

It was unbelievably gorgeous to see from the foothills this morning.

To be clear, I didn't eat the geese. 🤣 They're the size of chickens and they hiss when you get too close 😍!

Outlook is suggesting I replace "you're" with "your." As in, "Is there a time when your available" 🤦🏻‍♀️ Is this what happens when LLMs use Reddit content for the training data?

Can you start reading this book around them? The cover alone ought to break them.

This happened to me, but with chickens. Some kids returned the chickens and I didn't realize they weren't mine until I went to drop them off in my backyard and my chickens were already back there.
