These grants fund important services like CT's Library for Accessible Books, summer reading programs for kids, genealogy workshops, and more. Canceling these grants will save taxpayers a fraction of a percent of an iota of a cent (math) but the ramifications will be felt by library users statewide.

I have received two of these grants in my career so far. One was for a program series for seniors to help them stay connected and socialize. The other was for a summer robotics program for teens.

So many things affect this: when we find out about a book, when we place the order, publisher delays, supply chain, how quickly we open the package and process the book, etc.

This was just looking at adult books ordered through B&T. We knew we were experiencing delays but we weren't sure just how delayed. Next I will analyze our Brodart orders to see if they're faster.
