I am in coffee consumption shlub for the morning with coffee in hand, but Freya really really loves the fenced yard as evidenced by zoomies.

An upside though is that this weekend Freya will be able to play in the yard because we're getting a real fence! It got more than halfway done today, finished tomorrow.

Sigh, somedays you try making a new pizza dough with some mods (King Arthur Sourdough Discard but...with active starter) and wind up with dough so wet you have to do a sheet pan pizza. It looks good though.

I appreciate that tonight is a night where Charlottesville residents are leaning into tomatoes, sausage, and beans to make something soup-ish for dinner on our first chilly freezing cold night of the year.

Because it's supposed to freeze tonight I went ahead and trimmed some dahlias to bring inside this afternoon.

Tonight's on the weather forecast to be the first freeze, so it's time to get the end of the season tomatoes. Ones in the pan are about to get roasted for tonight's soup dinner and I still have to pick a bowl of green tomatoes equal in size to the bowl here of ripe/has some color fruit. 🌱

Ugh, 6 hours of cast iron pans marinating in Easy Off in a black plastic bag in the Sun was not enough. I guess I get to try again tomorrow and leave it for 24ish hours.

I'm digging all my cannas up this year so the fence installers don't have to deal with them in a couple days and....I think they've been happy by the driveway. 🌱

Temps turning cold and end of the garden season = roasted cherry tomatoes and garden basil and lemon thyme along with leftover jarred roasted peppers, some garlic and half an onion results in tomato soup with cheese toasts made with sourdough I baked this afternoon.
