My local bookshop is a treasure and their weekly email includes what their cat Lucy is reading. This week it was the Cat Operator's Manual by @queenoliviaiii.com
Lucy's review is a delight.

It has really grown as I travelled last month

I love when a project finally feels like you are gaining momentum.
I try to do a lot of the preparation before I start assembling so projects tend to feel a little bit meh until this point.
But now... growth all from bits stored in a cookie tin

Yes! That would be amazing. A lot of this is made with scraps from an art quilter in Northland who didn't want them to go to waste.
I can use scraps that are a little less than 2cm square for my 1" diamonds. I'm happy to pay for postage too

Something I really love about quilting is making chaos into order. Scrap quilting is my favourite and this one will be pretty fantastic when I finish (eventually) it uses my bits of scrap fabric and that another quilter sent me to avoid wasted bits.

Today I’m having Hineahuone framed. I’m very excited to hang her and to keep learning new parts of her pūrākau

In general news I went out to exercise this morning after walking the puppy.
Shockingly while I was gone someone had zoomies and did some parkour.
Gertie said she wasn’t involved. Evidence and mugshot attached

Does anyone know if there is a way to pledge allegiance to the country without including the British crown?

The other day the little dog spent 45 minutes attempting to catch a praying mantis. She was unsuccessful.

Well this project will definitely give me joy. I do love seeing patchwork come together but since it is all hand stitched it takes a decent amount of time.
Pictured is about 70 of the same three piece collection that will go into 64 rings eventually

The quilts I make often have both micro and macro decisions included in them. For this scrappy quilt I’m leaning mostly on micro chaos which should give macro beauty but this little set of 3 bits of 2000+ bits total gives me great joy for some reason.
