Every day you'll be sold a hundred reasons to abandon yourself. The world worships climbing and accumulating.

You're allowed to measure success by satisfaction. You're allowed to be happy doing work you chose.

The most disruptive act in midlife isn't leaving your job or relationship.
It’s leaving behind the version of yourself that you created to survive.

When someone's words trigger you: pause.
Irrelevant comments slide past unnoticed. But when something lands hard, it's touching a nerve.
Doesn't mean they're right. Means you've found something sensitive worth examining.

Perfectionism is really a shield. You think flawless performance protects you from judgment, but it only distracts from what truly matters to you. Release it and find self-compassion, creative risk-taking, and the joy that comes from valuing your progress.

Pain contains information. Anger can tell you when to advocate for yourself. Anxiety signals when boundaries need to be established. Guilt shows where you can make amends. Disappointment uncovers your deeper aspirations. Where we hurt also reveals what we value.

I just spoke to NYC Comptroller Brad Lander as he left police custody following his arrest at immigration court. Here’s what he said:

Going to the library fucking rules. You can walk in and pick your favorite things and then walk right out without paying anything. It's unbelievable and 100% the kind of thing that won't exist in the future unless you recognize the goodness now before it's too late
Hey, as a librarian I need to tell you:

Our funding depends on usage.

So go ahead and check out that book even if you don't think you'll finish it. No one will know. Check out that DVD even though you might not like it. Get ambitious in your quest for knowledge.

It's interesting that Paradise, Severance, and Silo are hit shows about a group of people trapped in a controlled environment by a group of rich people who are lying to them about the basic structure of their reality.

Probably says a lot about where we're at as a people!

Authenticity is essential for nervous system regulation because trauma occurs when we can't safely express our true selves. We hide our genuine feelings and needs to survive. This suppression creates chronic stress in our bodies. Reconnecting with our authentic selves becomes fundamental to healing.

The art of co-creation begins with surrendering to our present capacity. By respecting what our nervous system can handle today, rather than forcing what we wish for tomorrow, we clear the path for our deepest wishes to become real.

Your distress isn’t about the circumstance that rattled you. Its how you’re entangling yourself with it. Your pain comes not from what is, but from the continuous effort you’re making to create distance from that pain and what’s happening.

We feel frustrated when others hide behind emotional walls while building our own. The irony: we hide vulnerability yet seek it in others. We crave others' authenticity while withholding our own, but genuine connection requires mutual exposure.

That thing you're avoiding creates an invisible barrier. Unprocessed emotions demand energy, turning inward when ignored. You can't accept love w/out processing hurt, nor embrace creativity w/out confronting rejection. Avoidance only postpones your potential, despite the illusion of immediate relief

When rejected, we often blame ourselves. Yet sometimes people push us away not bc we're lacking, but bc we reflect their untapped potential. Your growth or confidence may challenge someone's self-image. Consider that your authenticity might have shown them a truth they weren't ready to face.

When you tied your worth to others' happiness, you became skilled at reading rooms, not yourself. Your caretakers taught you to ignore your instincts for others' comfort. This pattern persists—but your true worth lies in being authentically yourself, even when it doesn't please everyone.

Growth feels uncomfortable because your brain craves safety over change. That unsettling feeling when you’re leveling up? Don’t take it as a warning. That feeling acts like a checkpoint. Embrace sitting with the discomfort. You're not lost, you're evolving.

Amazing how we all find ways to justify our actions, good or bad. The moment you see this—how expertly we rationalize our own choices—you start seeing others differently. Judgment turns to curiosity: what story are they telling themselves?

Transformation won't come just from removing these self-serving voices like Musk from positions of power. Creating change demands assertiveness and courage from those with a real vision for the future.

People can't give you what they can't give themselves.
Don't seek peace from those at war with themselves.
Don't expect loyalty from those who betray themselves.
Don't look for honesty from those who lie to themselves.

Wonder why it's so draining to be someone you're not? That's your nervous system begging for authenticity. Childhood may have taught you to hide, but healing happens when we finally let ourselves be seen.

Notice yourself dividing things into 'right' and 'wrong'. It's not judgment—it's your mind searching for certainty in chaos. We block out complexity when we feel unsafe.
February 4, 2025 at 3:03 PM
That feeling when you need everything fixed right now? It's not anxiety. Urgency is often a trauma response. Your rush to stop the discomfort comes from learning that staying still wasn't safe.

Pay attention when someone constantly leaves you confused. People who avoid clarity often avoid accountability. And without accountability, there's no emotional safety. 🚩
