In response to the Melon Felon's tariff threats, Canadian Premiers are saying they will respond with equal tariffs as well as shutting off the flow of oil, gas and electricity to the US.

I think Elon's plan is to get Trump to force Canada to shutting off the Alberta pipelines via a trade war (something they have already threatened to do), driving gas at the pump to $7+ and therefore selling a lot of EVs.
