The relationship between Kasetris and her missing husband and how they rebuild that relationship after they are reunited drives the main plot of the book, but Kasetris’s relationship with Atzana, the girl she’s been raising for several years, is also complicated and important.
Gereon (a brown-skinned man with dark brown hair and a beard dressed in a single-shouldered tunic) embraces Kasetris (a woman with pale skin and short blonde hair dressed in a pale gray gown spattered with brown goo) after an encounter with a monster in the chthonic realm. At the same time I am pleased and proud to look at my drawing and I despair at how far I have to go as an artist before I can actually make the picture on the page match the vision I wish I could create. I do really like her jacket, though.

I tried to crochet some cat beds to donate to a shelter. I made 3 but my cats have decided I am not allowed to donate this one…

I looked up the previous Pope Leo on Wikipedia to find out the significance of the name and it seems like a good sign?

In his famous 1891 encyclical Rerum novarum, Pope Leo outlined the rights of workers to a fair wage, safe working conditions, and the formation of trade unions, while affirming the rights to property and free enterprise, opposing both socialism and laissez-faire capitalism. With that encyclical, he became popularly titled as the "Social Pope" and the "Pope of the Workers", also having created the foundations for modern thinking in the social doctrines of the Catholic Church, influencing the thoughts of his successors. He influenced the Mariology of the Catholic Church and promoted both the rosary and the scapular. Upon his election, he immediately sought to revive Thomism, the theological system of Augustine of Hippo and Thomas Aquinas, desiring to refer to it as the official political, theological and philosophical foundation for the Catholic Church. As a result, he sponsored the Editio Leonina in 1879.

There is a grave near where I live of three children who all died within two weeks of each other in 1865. The cemetery is in a park and visitors still leave small toys by the gravestones. i.redd.it/xy29qmv29x09...

I am a corporate archivist. As day jobs go, it’s not very interesting. I also draw stickers and sell them on Etsy. That’s marginally more interesting than my day job.
