We combine all our tech into a data-driven workflow to optimize bespoke sample prep conditions per sample, at minimal additional effort for the user. Our next goal will be to make our system more widely available to everyone. #cryoEM

We show a quantitative approach to cryo-EM sample preparation using high-speed cameras. We quantify ice thickness on *full* atlases in the TEM. We then use ‘manual gradient descent’ to improve our sample preparation method and try all sorts of things. In total, we made 2000 grids for this project!

Very curious as mostly you are quoting the scientists themselves. I can't imagine the hubris to claim that these people's lived experience does not reflect reality?

I imagine it shifting the boundary between industry projects and academic ones. Academics will just move onto the next problem which we can't brute force. Hopefully this future will accelerate medical research.
