Sunrise in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

I get jealous seeing all the amazing aurora photos, but my obsession with Sunrise means I am in bed wicked early. I get to see scenes like this on many mornings, and I will gladly keep it that way!

November foliage reflecting in Joseph Brown Pond in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

Until recently this was called Black Joe's Pond because 100 years or so ago someone started calling Mr. Brown "Black Joe" and the name stuck. Changing the name of the pond has upset a lot of racists in town.

The 64th Regiment of Foot arrives at the North Bridge in Salem, Massachusetts.

This is part of the 250th anniversary of the February 26, 1775 event known locally as Leslie's Retreat but more scholarly as The Salem Gunpowder Raid. This armed resistance set the tone for Lexington and Concord.

The mausoleum of Aretas and Lavinia Blood in the Valley Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire, by sculptor Alexander Doyle who also created many of the Confederate statues that have recently been removed. I am missing Summer and trying out old clips to see how they work on here. This is June at the Philip T. Clark Public Landing in Marblehead, Massachusetts.

I like using the full name because Bill Conly says we should, to honor this Marblehead Harbormaster who was admired by all.

This is what Fort Sewall looked like this morning from Front Street; by the time I got all the way up to the flagpole most of this color had drained from the sky. I love getting here early!
