The University Admin has reached out to us directly (not through the conciliator) 3 times and in none of those instances have they extended an invitation to go back to the table either. I have all these emails and can share them.

On Friday at 4:21 PM, the Shannon emailed us directly requesting binding arbitration and 3 minutes later the email to the SMU community goes out.

And not emails sent by the Conciliator where she clearly states that this is not a proposal from the Employer but hers. In none of these two cases when the conciliator reached out to us, did she extend an invitation to meet with the Employer.

The second time, the conciliator came back, and asked if we would agree to a counter proposal that she (not the University Admin) had prepared. The Negotiating Committee met to discuss it as a team, and agreed that these “consultations” should be part of a conciliation meeting with the Admin

The Conciliator reached to us on those two dates provided by the University Administration to ask us: the first time, if the Union will be willing to reach a deal and presented to the membership if the Admin agreed only on the Union wage proposal. We say yes, the University came back saying no

We were paid last Thursday. Full amount because it was for work already done. The next pay is the one we won’t get.
