Aha! There's a lot going on right now. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

I'm really excited that you've made the score available for download for these pieces. Thank you!

Ah yes. It does have quite the eerie feel about it, doesn't it?

Yay! That's exactly how I feel as well. We did go with putting Mélanie in the program. We live a rural area of Virginia so there's very little chance that someone will have heard of Mel Bonis and get confused or irritated that we're not using her publishing name.

And yes, I am very well known among my friends and family for overthinking things.

Piece in question is her flute sonata.

I realize this is going to sound very bizarre, but I've played and performed much of her music now and I've done some reading about her life and she doesn't strike me much as a "Mel." If she were alive today & could have published under Mélanie, would she?

Thank you! I was so intimidated to get started so I played through a whole bunch of Mozart cadenzas which helped. We'll see how it goes in the end!

Thank you, Shana! I'm trying to wisen up a bit. I suppose it's time, LOL.

When they perform they will be able to focus on the tapestry they've already woven out of the individual threads rather than trying to follow each one individually.

And they will be able to take the audience with them.

If we can help support musical interpretation with the "why it's that way" or "why they want it to be that way" I think performing will be easier. They will be investing themselves in the process in a more emotional, concrete way that connects all the threads that go into music-making.
