A leader won’t be distracted.

Not by practiced misdirection or slight-of-hand. Not by the loudest critic or a siren song.

Great leaders inspire us to reach higher and live larger…to turn impossible hopes into purpose…to dream unselfish dreams…to resist all that conspires to divert or distract.

Feel like you’re having the same conversations over and over with little progress?

The most effective interactions are built on these four cornerstones — Curiosity, Bridge Building, Honesty and Respect.

This is insightful and spot-on. It highlights the challenge for writers — I write out of my experiences; my experiences include consuming content from smart, articulate people. (And btw, hopefully my communication improves as I learn from what works for gifted communicators.)

An interesting debate.
I think Matt Levine of Bloomberg nails both sides of the "AI is plagiarism" debate really well here. www.bloomberg.com/opinion/arti...

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are good. Segregation is terrible. These things were true last week, they're true today, and they'll still be true four years from now.

When it comes to CULTURE, here’s the revealing question: What is so central to who we are that it drives every consequential decision and is not negotiable?

Rhetoric and memes aside, actions make it clear what we value above all else…or whether everything is negotiable.

Every article I read about law firms and AI says the need for training will explode: Train lawyers to use AI, train new associates to offer higher-level services b/c AI will do basic work, etc.

That training time is going to come out of billable-work time. Most firms haven't figured this out yet.

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

If you hate selling, but have to find clients for your business (or worthy cause)...

If you feel like you're forced to wear a different "hat" every time you're pitching your idea...

Then my latest Substack post is dedicated to you.

And it's good news.
