I mean there's no way around it. Speed limits on non-residential roads are kind of arbitrary. But changing the law just because this guy is an impatient fool is not only *also* arbitrary, it's a terrible reason to change it!

I'm not trying to defend this guy but the national speed limit was set to 55 because of the oil crisis, not for safety reasons. Experts have been arguing for 50 years about whether and to what extent speed limits on highways prevent crashes and injuries.
