A couple new chocolate models this week. The new version needs to differentiate between shapes more than the last one.

My board at the end of Chocolate Platter playtesting tonight. Needs some point adjustment but I was happy with the play test. It does need a better name…

First prototype of a new game using Modern Chocolate’s hidden filling mechanism. I’ve been starting to think of others ways to use the chocolate mechanism after it seems that publishers weren’t into the modern chocolate theme.

Latest map for my solo game Paiku’s Titles Tale.

Packing up Kyoto No Neko. Game has awesome presentation and is a good family weight game. A few of the rules are a bit clunky and sometimes the amount of stuff to remember clashes with the light weight mechanisms. Still fun with a couple house rules.

Another level of my solo print and play WIP

I’m Dustin, I’ve been designing games for about 13 years. Currently I’m pitching a medium weight euro named Modern Chocolate and designing a solo print and play.

Modern Chocolate has these awesome chocolate minis and each round you build a box of chocolates for an opponent.

I’ve been working on some art for my still unnamed solo design. This is the second scenario but first level I’m doing the art for.

Messed around with some new/rough ideas tonight. Not all there but it’s got potential.

I’ve been trying to improve my digital art skills and have been working on art pieces for an Ephemeral Path rules update. Here is my latest I finished this week. I don’t know if this will make the rule book or not but it’s certainly one of my better pieces.

I love TIME Stories and it’s been years since I’ve been able to get it to the table. But tomorrow night it’s Lumen Fidei and I’m super excited. #boardgames #tabletopgaming

I’ve started pitching Modern Chocolate so this week I put together a pitch sheet and made some videos!

Yes!

Modern Chocolate is a medium weight game in which players run an online chocolate company. Rounds start by players making one of their opponents a box of chocolates using chocolate minis and dice as fillings. Each mini represents an action and you never know the filling until you take a bite!

I always find staging a video in my house really difficult and no matter what I decide, or how long I take, the top of my head is always cut off, no matter what…

It’s nice to have this on Blue Sky! Prototyping of Something to the Right last night.

Not actual chocolate! Just chocolate shaped minis!
November 18, 2024 at 1:15 PM
This is a box of chocolates from one of my current game design prototypes, Modern Chocolate. The main mechanism involves making a box of chocolates for an opponent each round. Dice go under the chocolates as filling.
