My topics of interest: books (mostly non-fiction and on a wide range of subjects), bats, squirrels, film/tv, gothic & morbid stuff, fountain pens & stationery, Hookland, museums, and tea. I barely post, for which I apologize. I'm working on it.
[Book] "America's Horror Stories: US History through Dark Tourism" by Kevin Revier and Favian Alejandro Martín.

One of my major interests is dark tourism and efforts to portray troubling history well, but too many books are either too academic or too aimed at "gore-hounds". This looks reasonable.

I actually voted well over a week ago, but I don't have a cute picture for that.

Happy October!! My current reading is 'The Conjuring of America' by Lindsey Stewart. Book jacket pull-quote: "Above all, 'The Conjuring of America' is a love letter to the magic Black women used to sow messages of rebellion, freedom, and hope." I've barely started, but I'm loving it so far.

Murder Ballads. That's my current thing, sparked by the 33 1/3 book on Nick Cave's Murder Ballads album and "Murder Ballads: Illustrated Lyrics & Lore" by Katy Horan. Both books are really interesting! Next up is "Death Discs : An Account of Fatality in the Popular Song" by Alan Clayson.
