The loss of the Rivers of America is profoundly disappointing. Irreparable damage that is entirely avoidable. This is a massive self-inflicted wound for WDW. An incredibly deep-cutting loss for the park, for future generations, and for Disney history.

Was not on the last Liberty Belle voyage tonight, but upon exiting my ride, the Captain said: “Thank you for riding with us on one of our last voyages here on the Rivers of America, on the Liberty Belle, formerly known as the Richard F. Irvine.”
And that pleasantly surprised me and made me cry.

Every time I’ve been to WDW this year (2025), I’ve had to say goodbye to something (or in today’s case, some things). It’s hard to be a Disney person these days. 💔

My grandparents visited Walt Disney World 2 weeks after it opened in September 1971. I thought I would share some of the photos my Grandpa shot on The Rivers Of America and the no longer existing Admiral Joe Fowler Riverboat. Still hard to believe after today this can never be experienced again. ❤️
