Stumptown had some of the Rockford vibe
That's exactly it. Pokerface was what we Columbo fanatics were craving, a twisty and funny how-done-it with a quirky, distinctive, charismatic lead. Natasha Lyonne was the Peter Falk we so desperately needed.
I would be okay with a show that was a modern take on the Rockford file format ala Pokerface/Columbo. Just don’t reboot Rockford. If you get the concept right, and write it well, people will get it.

One of the aspects of the pandemic that rarely comes up anymore was that many people for the first time, with the government relief, did not have non-stop anxiety about bills for the first time in their adult lives.
