Used a break in the rain to experiment. Wasn't sure how well it would work since this is fake chrome plastic, but it came up really really nicely. Hard to show in photos but there's a "crust" of oxidation on the left photo that I removed in the right.

Got the car back and it's never felt better. New intake pipe in yellow just for fun. Car now feels alive in the low/mid range outside of OPC mode.
Just glad it's no longer in danger of grenading. Now to just clean it up of mechanic garage nastys :D

Worked on @mitchd03.bsky.social 's RedZed last weekend for presale to get some extra $$$. Didn't go too hard in the correction area as it's very much in need of entire respray, but I think it came out splendidly.

Worked on @mitchd03.bsky.social 's RedZed last weekend for presale to get some extra $$$. Didn't go too hard in the correction area as it's very much in need of entire respray, but I think it came out splendidly.

On the plus side it's a bloody clean engine. The oil squirter was clean too so no idea why all the timing parts failed, it wasnt even the most common bits that DO fail in these engines...

Essence of just in the nick of time...alternatively good job GM for building an engine that does explode immediately when it breaks?
Main tensioner siezed, water pump drive chain guide snapped, that chains tensioner exploded, 30% of the oil pickup clogged with garbage, intake pipe broken...

I tested out Carpros microfibre/pad cleaner and uh, it appears one of my drying towels bled a little blue into the pads.
This was a very bright yellow....

Today my first paying client, Drewbys Focus! I'd consider this an 85% correction because there were some deeper scratches I wasn't exactly comfortable trying to get out but overally very nice looking paint now.

In other news, detailing workshop went fantastically and I now have a piece of paper that says I know what I'm doing! Absolutely stoked to hear an industry veteran say my work was perfect after two passes on my test square. So much more confident to do paint correction and ceramic coats now.
