Small good things: spring is progressing in the woods around here.
White hepatica flowers surrounded by leaf litter and twigs. Spring beauties blooming in front of a mossy rock, with young aster leaves out of focus at the bottom of the frame. Purple hepatica flowers in front of some reddish rocks, with mystery green leaves that might be some kind of plantain (not the banana-like ones).

Phoebe really wanted the comfy chair to herself again. (I ceded it because it’s almost bedtime.)

She’s looking over her shoulder, toward the lightbulb and at an angle to the camera, and the difference between the bright light on her back and the darkness around her chest and paws is pretty dramatic; slightly more than half her face is lit, and the other half is in shadow. (The vertical lamp support is hidden by her body.)

Some indoor flowers today
Pink hyacinth with nearly all of its flowers open. Each petal has a dark pink center and paler sides. Orchid (phalaenopsis) flower stalk with three open flowers and one large bud. Each flower is mostly pink with yellow and greenish accents. Other houseplant leaves and household miscellany are out of focus in the background.

Candlelight, a purring cat, and knitting are definitely helping my evening.

No new living flowers in my house today, but I do have a couple of freshly printed ones. I’m pretty pleased with these two.

Outside is snowy and disconcertingly not cold (cold front arriving tomorrow), but the indoor flowers are doing pretty well.

This has been a fantastic weekend of enjoying the beautiful weather with hikers (yesterday) and yarn folks (today), plus some spinning.
Rocky beach along the Vermont side of Lake Champlain, with some waves on the lake and some of the Adirondacks off in the distance. It’s a good morning for watching birds from inside. (I’m kind of disappointed that this isn’t a day I can count toward Project Feeder Watch, but maybe I’ll try looking earlier next time.)
