So, despite all of the time and work that has gone into this kit, I think I'm going to abandon it. Once the docking ring sub-assemblies were attached to the hab ring, severe warping became obvious. I don't think I can fix that. It will look wrong no matter how good the paint job. #AMT #scalemodels

PE completed, another round of gap filling & sanding done. Next is to touch up some spots with CA gap filler, then do the main assembly... and deal with any gaps revealed there. Onwards!

More slow progress today. Everything that needed grinding down for PE is done, acrylic putty added to fill ejection rod marks & where Tamiya putty shrank. Time to let things cure. This kit has converted me to wet sanding, though. Makes things so much easier when there's a lot to do.

So Tamiya Epoxy Putty (Smooth Type) proof of concept. It works to fill the shelf caused by the 1994 kit engineering, & to sculpt the details back in (though as a sculptor I should work hard to keep my day job). Real question: is it worth the time investment?

Finally! Was able to spend a couple of hours on the 1994 AMT DS9. Still wiping out seams, but this was the last station arc, so yay progress!
