The simultaneously optimistic and cynical answer is that the question was phrased as "how many enslaved Africans did the British forcible transport to the Caribbean", and if the answer was anything other than "3 million" it goes in the "unaware" column.

Similarly, a less abusive system such as those prevalent in Northern Europe would only be 'making a dent' in the problem. And that's fine! Improving things is the point of improvement, after all. So in that sense, both approaches are worthwhile in that they both improve the overall situation.

Normally, objectivity would seem to be impeded by having a personal stake in the matter, for instance by way of one side offering to help out your career somehow or other.
The only totally objective journalist is one with permanent tenure, and that just causes some other problems instead.

It's worth noting, of course, that nobody else playing actually has a customized character, they just all don't seem to mind getting stuck with the randomly generated one for reasons we never quite bothered to figure out.

If pressed, those disdainful of your ticket will occasionally elaborate, accusing you of trying to cheat at some of the minigames that you may or may not have ever touched, or else of trying to abuse the older safe zone mechanics for a really marginal advantage in a particular form of banned pvp.

And if I'd seen anyone still using those two letters to refer to anything else, I would find it just as grating as Ted Stevens complaining "what happens to your own personal internet!?" to complain about an email that arrived several days late, albeit just as understandable.

I wouldn't even call it a "code word", just another acronym. At the height of 4chan, saying 'cp' was as ordinary and as universally understood as saying 'ups' or 'usb' or 'nfl'.

Perhaps I'm being a bit more generous about things by including our understanding of magnetic fields in general when quantifying "how much" we know about magnets. I suppose in the strictest sense, solid ferromagnetic materials are less thoroughly explained than other forms of magnetism.
