"Look at the size of the crowd!" is the new "Look at all the lawn signs!"

That wasn't very predictive, either.

Just so you know, the person who wrote the original post, & shared Elmo's tweet with the deadname, is trans herself, so it never occurred to me that it would be wrong to "tag" Vivian (I never actually tagged her, but shared her post, which I guess one can say has the same effect as tagging her?).

🤷🏻
March 23, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Yep, I get what you're saying & I did realize there was more to it, but I just wanted to keep my post (or whatever these are called 😁) simple & not get too sidetracked. Thanks for bringing it up. 👍🏻

Looks like Elmo has gone on a tirade about trans people recently on Twitter (I'll stop calling it that once he stops deadnaming his daughter). Wonder what triggered it? 🤔

Two observations:

- You were young once. 😲

- Your brother looks exactly like every single cop anyone has ever seen as an extra in a movie from the '70s. (RIP)

Good one 😄

FYI, this meme has been around since 2020. It's from an article from an Aussie satirical news site called The Shovel.

The article doesn't seem to be there anymore, but check out Internet Archive:
NRA Accidentally Forgets To Rise Up Against Tyrannical Government

I got my microbiology degree ages ago & my greatest trick was I somehow avoided "sacrificing" any rats, mice, etc. (For those who don't know, that's the euphemism we use.) Mostly got my lab partner to do it.

Never did grad studies (or employed in the field), but kinda glad I didn't just bc of this.

1/🧵 Judges across ideological lines are ruling against Trump at strikingly similar rates (84% liberal, 86% centrist, 82% conservative). This isn't partisan opposition to Trump—it's the judiciary functioning as intended by cutting across partisan lines to uphold the Constitution.

Say what you want about him, but there's no denying the guy can carry a tune.
March 17, 2025 at 9:15 PM
Looks like a good number of NDP voters are going to be voting strategically, not liking what they're seeing to the south & not wanting a lite version of it to happen here.

Btw, by "lite," please don't misunderstand & think I'm referring to PP as Trump Lite. He's Vance Lite. Accuracy counts, peeps.
March 17, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Of course it's fake. It's real only if Trudeau (Pierre & Justin), Margaret Atwood & the A&W guy are in it.
March 15, 2025 at 6:02 PM
OMG, that's from the EKOS poll that I mentioned in my original post in this thread. 🤦🏻 I assumed that was obvious, or at least you clicked on the link in that post.

Please click on it & it'll be all clear:

Is this a semantics thing? I'm just talking about this.
March 15, 2025 at 2:24 AM
About that EKOS poll showing LPC ahead in AB 😲, see quote below.

About the Probit survey, the AB results were 46% CPC & 30% LPC.

"Curiously, the Liberals have a statistically insignificant edge in Alberta; however, this finding is almost certainly an artefact of chance given the small sample size in the province (this finding did not appear in our parallel Probit survey)."

Well, this just confirms everyone's suspicion that every dick out there probably has a swastika tattoo.
March 14, 2025 at 5:22 AM
D'oh, you're right. Thanks. 👍🏻
March 11, 2025 at 4:42 AM
Ok, I'm probably embarrassing myself here, but what does BIC mean?
March 11, 2025 at 1:58 AM
As others have pointed out, there are errors in that quote. It's disinformation, really. The other side frequently does this kind of stuff quite shamelessly—we can do better than this.
March 10, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Actually, I would call the quote "disinformation." It seems to have gone viral, so not much can be done about it now.

Btw, I'm Canadian, against the tariffs & obviously not a fan of the Orangutan—but we shouldn't act like the other side & we can do much better than this.

I think it depends on the meme. A lot of memes are idiotic, but some just hit & have a visceral impact. Like the old adage says, "A picture is worth a thousand words." They can be as effective as an editorial/political cartoon from a newspaper.

But I do get tired of seeing the same recycled meme.

You can read the resolution here:
docs.un.org/A/79/L.54

I'm assuming these are the phrases the US is objecting to:

- "promote peace, tolerance, inclusion"
- "need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach"
- "respect for diversity"

Pretty evil & inflammatory stuff 🙃

I found this article quite interesting, with their views on Trump. Mega-long, but worth the read or at least a glance.
