Hey, friend -
You know your Rebel Leia shirt? The District 12 patch on your backpack? Your Bajoran replica earring? Your One Ring necklace?
These stories have lived within you. They've illustrated the power of collective resistance.
Your fandoms have become real life. It's time to get to work.

volunteering or anything task-centric is a great way to break out of isolation without having to make a big effort to talk to people. you just show up and do the thing. and also you’re helping make one small corner of the world a little better

I share this story a lot: an old school abortion access activist w experience smuggling medicine in the 1960s told me when Roe was overturned: “it just means we go back to taking care of each other despite the laws. Don’t lose faith. Find your smugglers.”
I repeat this to myself a lot these days.

Looks like TCAF has extended applications until Fri 1/31! I have to skip applying for 2025 because of big book deadlines but it's one of my favorite cons. Hopefully I'll see you in 2026, please report back on how the new venue goes! www.torontocomics.com
