Less thinking more meh-ing. Those powder blue unis and Sammy Sosa were the Cubs “gets” for the rest of the offseason (both of which I’m excited about but…). In Matt Shaws unusually quick development and Nicos revitalized health we hope.

I think the one fire they thought may have been caused by embers was the Sunset fire? I don’t know enough about fires/LA geography to know if that is a reasonable assumption so best to wait for an investigation! I just saw your post and was reading about that exact thing and wanted to share. Be well

No expert here either. This was the article that talked about embers for these fire spreading erratically for miles in all directions and not following normal wind patterns due to a wind storm in the area. Hoping for some good news soon and an end to the death and destruction ASAP
Tiny burning embers flew miles, causing L.A. fire destruction on historic scale
The life-threatening windstorm exploded into a crisis even worse than predicted, with embers flying an estimated two to three miles ahead of the fire.

An investigation into the cause of a fire can’t usually begin until the fire is extinguished. Usually (about 85% of the time) it’s human caused. Additional fires can and have popped up due to wind blowing embers around. We likely won’t know the cause for a while.

If you have a library card, you may be able to access the article (and many other newspapers and articles) online through your local library for free.

If not I have a NYT subscription and will share a gifted article link here for people to access it

The information landscape is pretty bleak. I've begun using these sites less and less but every time I check back in its like 10 people calmly speaking reason into a hurricane of conspiracy, disinformation, hatred, etc. Tough to be positive about the future if you spend anytime online.
