Beautiful, cold morning here in Poole (south coast England)

Here's a photo of a completed section of the same route, a couple of km up the road (on a much sunnier day!)

This new route in Poole is not yet complete but teasingly some sections of it are now open. If you look closely at the old road markings you can see how much carriageway width is being reallocated. It's going to be so good when it's finished - I can't wait! 😁

It felt very strange seeing the Christmas lights being put up in Bournemouth today whilst the sun was blazing down and it was 16+ degrees out! 😕

Great afternoon getting nicely pickled at Conker gin HQ... Lovely selection of spirits but ooh, cargo bike! 😁

The reason for this, and the one further down the road, is to protect this presumably rather ancient stone bridge from idiots trying to force their too-wide vehicle across and damaging it.

Traffic calming, Devon style 💪

I'm currently staying on a farm in the middle of nowhere, where the roads have grass growing down the middle of them and everything is hilly and muddy. This is the farmer's car. For anyone who claims that a Range Rover is essential if you live anywhere slightly sub-urban... 😉

Poole Harbour. Not bad, not bad.

Ah, yet another weekend of train disruption. I love public transport, I really really do. But you've got to wonder how we can expect people to use it with any confidence when more journeys than not seem to be disrupted. My sister was supposed to be here half an hour ago, now the train is "delayed"

To steal @crisortunity.bsky.social's turn of phrase...Good morning to almost everyone!
(And don't get me started on the random post in the middle of the footway, have reported)

Not related to the photo, but they just played Sunshine on Leith by the Proclaimers on Radio 2. One of my all-time favourite songs and my goodness,I don't think there's any other song which makes me so emotional 😭

Well, that was a new one!
Had to literally run to avoid getting hit by a driver this morning as he turned right into a side road at high speed, on the wrong side of the road, in fact on the wrong side of a pedestrian refuge! We have to share our streets with these maniacs 😔

Little pootle in the sunshine to check out some emerging sexy infrastructure. A new *rubs thighs* machine-laid stepped cycle track complete with what will be a bus stop bypass (second picture, use your imagination).

This is amazing! A colleague found it in her cavity wall whilst doing some DIY. A newspaper article from the 1960s bemoaning the introduction of some 50mph speed limits. "Poor British Motorists" - some things never change, do they?!

So lucky to live here 💙

So grateful to live somewhere that a bunch of kids that don't know each other, can turn up at a park, chuck their bikes down and just play football together, for free.
(Incidentally, anyone who says that "multicultural is a failed experiment" clearly has never seen a random group of kids play)

After work rounders on the beach - what a gorgeous evening! Got to grab these moments whilst we can 😎

Random photo of the day... Must be Bournemouth Arts Festival!

Attended my first ever demo this afternoon, cycled there and back, naturally 😁 Bike share perfect as didn't want to risk my own bike getting nicked/trashed. In fact, my own bike would probably have been fine as there were more police than I've ever seen in my life!

My friends know me so well 😊

There's an anti-immigration protest taking place in Bournemouth tomorrow, and this poster is for the counter demonstration.

As far as the eye can see: queuing rush hour traffic along a narrow residential street that is completely unsuitable for this volume. The road runs parallel to the main road 🙄 And they're all going to end up back on that main road, so basically this is stacking space.
