There are a dozen countries building nuclear power stations who are starting from a similar point. They are importing initial builds that train the local workforce. Granted, 🇷🇺 & 🇨🇳 are the top exporters of these builds but So Korea or 🇨🇦 would be happy build reactors for 🇦🇺.

Your comment reminded me of this quote from a retired 🇨🇦 nuclear engineer friend:
“40 Years ago, Fusion was said to be 20 years away, and 20 years from now, it still will be.”

I won’t even bother asking why you’ve said that. The fact is 31 countries around the globe have pledged to triple nuclear power by 2050. Nuclear is clean, safe base load power that is exponentially superior to all intermittent forms of power.

I bet she’ll talk about it on this, but I haven’t listened yet.

Amusing that being in the “Show me” State, they want to see operating examples before selecting a reactor type. 😀

Spent #nuclear fuel is recyclable! MOX by Orano is used in 30 reactors in Europe & Japan. All spent fuel in the US is an asset that no one has EVER been harmed by. As w many new technologies MOX costs more than fresh fuel but that can change as #uranium prices rise due to structural supply deficits.
