I’m not in favor of fossil fuels but Solar is not a reliable solution: It offers low & intermittent grid contribution, massive land use, and ~25 year of life before going into landfills. And then there’s that pesky nighttime.

Having a lot of wind capacity means nothing on still days. Just as having a lot of solar means nothing at night. And, there aren’t enough battery metals on the planet to offset these physical limitations.

I have always maintained that achieving Replacement Rate Contracting of 180m+ lbs per year would be the start of the true cycle as we saw from ‘05 to ‘12 (non-consecutive.)
