I've often noted the downside of innocent until proven guilty is when you know they will do harm, it won't be stopped until they've caused that harm. We see that in real time with Musk. They can't stop him until things are broken irreparably. So we watch in horror, waiting for the irreparable harm.

I've noticed myself slipping into the unreality of "this won't happen to me" about the atrocities that Musk and Trump are releasing on this country. I'm keenly aware of the fact that chances are most people in Nazi Germany felt the same way, until they were put on the train.

How much of what Musk is doing is just to divert us? Get us used to this? I know he's destructive, but when you're working with showmen, you look away from the noise and flash to see what's happening behind the scenes.
If this kind of destruction is the flash, what sort of hell are they hiding?

Accidentally setting my air fryer on fire led to discovering that blaming myself for a mistake to the point of self-punishment (food deprivation) is NOT an appropriate way to respond. And partners who I expected to be mad are instead caring for me.

Met my boyfriend's co-worker and his family tonight. I have been dubbed by the younger one as the nicest gay person he knows. And my boyfriend is the older one's new hero since he has both a wife AND a girlfriend.
Sometimes kids are a blast.

As many people are doing right now, I'm evaluating my desire to stay in America. But where could I move to? Queer acceptance is not great in the larger world, either.
So where should I be looking? What would I need to do to move there? Most countries won't let you move cause you wanna.

Trying to maintain the balance between anger, sadness, and activism in relation to this country and joy in the community my chosen family and friends has made is tiring.
Focusing on finding joy in time spent with loved ones and relaxation when I can.
How do y'all keep the balance for yourselves?

Interesting conversation with a friend today, trying to explain that the "just wait until they see all the bad things that happen to them" isn't a viable karmic retribution because ... they know. They know what will happen. They know that they're going to be poorer and have more taxes. (1/3)
