A new low in far-right appeasment from the UK Government. Border violence embeds racism, this includes denial or restriction of access to asylum. Who lives here belongs here.
Temporary asylum is the inhumane 'anti-immigrant state' politics of deterrence, non-admission, and containment. An everyday consequence of temporariness is to create a spectacle of refugees’ lives. Temporary protection schemes serve to ‘de-legitimise’ refugee protection. Labour's plans will lead to uncertainty, exclusion, and protracted deportability. Border violence embeds racism, this includes denial or restriction of access to asylum. Who lives here belongs here.

From the PSNI’s abject failure protect communities or pursue arrests during the August 2024 far-right violence to to the leaked non-intervention orders issued to PSNI officers during the paramilitary backed far-right Ballymena violence and pogroms - alarm bells should be sounding. [1/4]

The language is starting to change in Ireland, a recognition that what the far-right have been engaging in - is terror.

The road to fascism is paved with complacency. Yesterday, only 63 Labour MPs bothered to show up and vote no on Nigel Farage’s motion to withdraw from the European Convention on Human Rights.

This is political cowardice and evidences a party that is completely unserious on preventing fascism. [1/2]

It said: “This is a cynical attempt by a Labour government lagging behind in the polls to pander to far-right talking points. “Recent ONS data shows that by far the three most important issues people in the UK are facing are the cost of living, the NHS and the economy. “The UK government should be focused on real-world problems that have real impact on struggling households across these islands, not a rehashed failed ID card scheme that places additional burden on ordinary people. “The ‘Brit Card’ escalates and broadens the scope of the ‘hostile environment’ by implementing yet another unnecessary method of control and intimidation. “There is already a database against which such information can be detailed: it’s that of the Home Office. “Stringent right-to-work provisions already exist in the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. The ‘Brit Card’ would do nothing to tackle illegal migration, and in fact could drive vulnerable people into more precarious situations in our society. “ID cards raise significant concern on the right to privacy, all in an effort to further alienate those in the UK who have contributed so much to today’s society.”

Up to 60 men were involved in this attempted lynching in your constituency. An eyewitness said that despite the mobilisation being prennnounced that PSNI 'were nowhere to be seen'. The attackerrs were allowed to disperse, were there arrests?

'The PSNI has sent officers to England to bolster security for US President Donald Trump’s historic second state visit — but has refused to say how many.'

The same PSNI who watched up to 60 men attempt a lynching without intervening or arrests. This was never a resource issue.

ITV have this headline 100% correct. It was an attempted lynching in broad daylight at a preannounced white supremacist mobilisation.

Despite being MLA for the area, the Justice Minister doesn’t engage with victims of white supremacist terror in her own constituency.

By August 2025 Sinclair was back in Belfast, appearing at a rally in support of a vigilante arrested for targeting migrants. He continued to frame himself as a citizen journalist exposing the "truth," while downplaying issues like the Irish language and keeping his focus squarely on attacking immigrants and refugees. Mark Sinclair today stands as a divisive figure. To some in the far right he is a straight-talking patriot; to others, his record as a UVF man and convicted robber undermines everything he says. His journey from loyalist crime to far-right politics makes him both a symbol of continuity and a warning about where sectarianism and racism overlap.

After his release he disappeared from public view, until resurfacing in 2024 with a YouTube channel under the name Freedom Dad. He began broadcasting videos that mixed loyalist identity with far-right talking points about immigration and refugees. On the street he styled himself as a plain-speaking Ulsterman giving a voice to "ordinary people.” In 2025 Sinclair travelled south to join anti-immigration protests in Limerick and Dublin. On stage he declared: "The six counties belong to us, the Ulstermen and women of Northern Ireland. But Protestants and Catholics alike need to stand up against immigration." His presence split the movement: some welcomed him, while others said a man with a UVF past had no place on their platforms. Sinclair caused outrage when he addressed a rally outside Dublin's General Post Office, the symbolic heart of the Easter Rising. For republicans it was an insult, and for anti-racist groups it confirmed their warnings that Irish far-right activists were linking up with loyalists. Campaigners condemned the event, saying it showed the dangerous overlap of racism and sectarianism.
