The peepers are back in my part of Nova Scotia

My author copies arrived today for a project I help edit. There’s also a fun interview between me and author, Louis Evans, whose story, The Ants, The Grasshoppers, The Locusts, and the Fungus is featured within. This is the tenth Curiosities anthology we’ve put together. It’s available on Amazon.

Laser Books was the mid-70s sci-fi branch of Harlequin Enterprises. The series released 58 novels, each featuring unique cover art by artist Kelly Freas. The series had a uniform look, with most edited to 190 pages. As a kid, they were gold. I tracked down all 58 on the 2nd hand market.

As of February 4th American alcohol will be removed from Nova Scotia liquor outlets. We don’t need it. Also, double tolls for American commercial vehicles. Friendship, eh #tariffs

My mother was an artist and this piece was among her final paintings. I found it with a dozen others, unframed and unwrapped, in the back of a closet. I look at it often, it reminds me of the ephemeral nature of being.
