Very interesting! I did not know these plants could grow and thrive in the winter in the North area!
This is really helpful for people who garden and want to keep up with it in the winter! Also a good source pesticide and GMO free foods! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
There are still a few edible plants that can go in the ground this season. Use this time in the garden to reflect on the past year and look forward to a new chapter. You will be grateful to see your homegrown food appear in the new year! gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/infographics...

I agree I love pomegranates for a snack and pomegranate juice I have been trying to incorporate more fiber into my diet as well.
Pomegranates are so underrated. One thing I always forget is how much fiber they pack into such a small serving. They’re sweet, refreshing, and actually super nutrient-dense. Definitely adding more of these into my snacks this season. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

One important thing I make sure to look for in nutrition posts is if the information is backed up by a credible source such as posted by a qualified health professional and presents a balanced view and not trying to sell you a perfect solution. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I liked the way this article explains nutritional guidelines for each age group because everyone's nutritional path is different.
www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-life...

I chose this article bc its very clear and concise about how much of what food groups kids should eat. It's also split into groups by age which is helpful bc obviously a 5yr old needs different amounts of food than a 10yr old. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

Yes I agree! Tom's experience with a medical assistant showing their judgement on his weight had made him fear going to regular physicals with his primary physician.
Tom Carroll’s story shifted my perspective because hearing about his struggle to lose weight made me realize how much ppl deal with behind the scenes. It reminded not to judge or assume anything about someone’s situation. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Tom's story stood out to me because he changed one simple food in his life to make it routine and healthy habits stick. Tom had started experiencing unsettling physical health episodes. In the future when working with patients I will keep in mind changing one thing at a time is beneficial.

Learning about fat shaming and weight stigma is important because it can take a big toll on people's mental and physical well-being. Being educated on the topic can help teach others.
Learning that weight stigma leads to many people to avoid going to the doctors, can cause more stress and can lead to weight gain stood out to me. Fat shaming doesn’t help anyone, it harms mental and physical health. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

One of my go to meal choices is chicken and white rice. To make this choice more nutrient dense I would try using whole-grain rice, add vegetables such as broccoli and carrots, add nuts such as almonds, and when cooking chicken using heathy cooking oils like avocado oil. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
