It’s Saturday. And I’m at work. So is over half my office. All across the country, SSA staff are working OT in a desperate (but probably futile) attempt to keep from drowning under all the work we have now after losing so many staff. We’re fighting a losing battle. When we lose, so do you. 🫠🫠🫠

Hot take—the problem with modern Star Trek is that it’s too high quality. What I really want is 26-episode seasons with wildly inconsistent quality and mediocre special effects made by actors and crew grinding out desperately long days to meet unforgiving production schedules.

This really is a perfect encapsulation of the severity-for-severity’s-sake attitude that has been a major driver of mass incarceration for decades.
And a core attitude in so much of the judicial hostility to prisoner litigation.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.
