I watched Breathless for the 1st time in preparation for Nouvelle Vague. I found Breathless fascinating & worth watching but it didn’t wow me. However, NV’s imagining of the making of Breathless is amazing & fun. Zoey Deutch is a revelation in a movie that is filled with naturalistic acting.

I just finished Lawless by @leahlitman.bsky.social. It took a while to finish not because it’s hard to read or because it’s not well written. The opposite is true. It took a while because what the Court is doing is so depressing. 1/

What Trump and DOGE are doing is incompatible with American capitalism. People need to be relatively healthy and content in order to buy stuff. And buying stuff is what America is all about.

I was thinking about how BlueSky could monetize. Because there are different feeds, they could set up a shopping feed that has ads. But on top of that you could customize your stores and have discussions about where to shop for different items and write reviews, etc. Or opt out by subscription

We recently watched #NowhereSpecial. It was a very sad movie but so special. This was a couple of weeks after we saw #HisThreeDaughters. As a father with 3 kids, my point of view for HTD was the dad. So the dad scene was especially effective. These 2 movies make a very nice thematic pairing #FilmSky
