Had an excellent if unconventional Thanksgiving meal today. I think the cornbread and stuffing were the only things typical. So much more delicious than dry turkey.

This is hopefully Cooper’s last night in the crate! He’s been a little cuddle bug when we take our breaks. I think he’ll get the all clear no problem.

I can’t get over how sweet Cooper is. Whenever I give him a break from the crate he just wants to cuddle. Doesn’t go running, just wants to lay up close. 😭

I love walking up to the garden. It is such a peaceful place. The garden is perfectly situated to get the most heavenly sunshine.

Cooper is cleared from wearing the cone! Still 4 more weeks of crate rest but this will make it easier on him.

Things are getting easier for Cooper but I’m still adjusting 😸 he’s been eating great and peeing and a tiiiiiiny bit of poop (ok because of all the anesthesia)

Crate finally unfolded (thanks YouTube) and I did NOT make it to full tears just grunts of frustration. And now I can foster a Doberman after he’s recovered because this crate is huge

Coop’s knees are most likely a developmental issue. Which in a way I’m relieved that he didn’t hurt himself under my watch. Even though I know that is equally not under my control.

Sorry but I do love Reddit. I was picturing Cooper having to be in a cramped wire crate but on there I realized I can get something like this. I’ve seen cat rescuers online use them too it just didn’t occur to me.

Diagnosis from the orthopedic vet is Cooper has bad knees. Definitely needs surgery on left and maybe even right eventually. There’s two options and 2nd involves waiting til he’s fully grown. Trying to limit activity now and as chill as he his it’s TOUGH and I’ve only been back an hour 😭.
