It was 134 years ago on this day that the U.S. indiscriminately murdered hundreds of Natives — men, women, children — and dumped their bodies into a massive pit. Later, 20 U.S. soldiers would receive the Medal of Honor for their “acts of valor” during the Wounded Knee Massacre.
