The problem is that once SCOTUS legalized political bribery, the richest Americans paid members of congress to roll out massive tax cuts that primarily benefit millionaires and billionaires. We need to get rid of Citizens United and move to publicly funded elections.

The income tax was designed wisely with a progressive rate structure. Congress has obliterated that for high income individuals at an unconscionable cost to the country. The only way to cure the wealth gap is to fundamentally reform the tax code but no elected official ever raises the idea.

There's no good reason for the richest people on earth being exempt from paying taxes. What kind of a country allows this to happen? Why have U.S. citizens put up w/it for so long? The laws & loopholes that allow this to happen must be changed.
