Five years ago, while undergoing leukemia treatment during the COVID lockdown, I spent too much time on social media. But it also sparked some reflection, and when I could return to research, I switched my focus from search engines to online social media.

How this can be a surprise to anyone is beyond me.

Have also been worrying abt this weaponisation, as many academics at present seem to mentor their students to use LLMs during thesis writing. In future their theses will be revealed to have plagiarised, and we all know who will be retroactively punished for it, and who not.
3) We see weaponised accusations of so-called plagiarism, and excuses for very obvious plagiarism, playing out in the USA, which not only create an atmosphere of confusion between what plagiarism means between academics versus in an assessment, but also threaten academic 3/n
