So remember when I said I was at a lovely civic building a couple of days ago but I felt very uncomfortable in the ladies loo, like I wasn’t alone in there? Well, I took a photo - didn’t catch anything but I think you can feel the atmosphere (the drips are gold paint)

Had this lovely black cat come in through my window and visit me earlier. Wouldn’t come for pets and fussing but first time they’ve actually come in through the window rather than sitting outside

I was trying to get a picture of how pretty the sky was, with rippling rainbow clouds near the sun, but did not quite manage. Still, not too bad I think

Morning everyone. Please have a look at this nice picture I took of a sunlit courtyard at Somerset House I took with my flashy brand new camera. Just imagine how peaceful and relaxing this secret sun trap is, how you could spend an afternoon reading there and no one would know.

Well Designated Survivor 60 Days just got about 20% gayer

Pretty picture time again! A random choice from my collection of photos

This is from an incredible exhibition i saw at the British museum, about people who live in the Polar region. (I loved that exhibition, went three times)

Just popping out at twilight to take photos of the graveyard, as you do…

Happy May the Fourth everyone!

I dedicate this to Leia, my first and most powerful ‘I wanna be like her!’ icon, right from seeing her in the cinema (and also Mon Mothma, who I adore with the heat of a thousand suns)

Pretty picture for the day

This was taken in Reading - a graveyard I seem to remember.

If you’re going to the Tate Modern in next few weeks, go down to the Tanks and see the temporary exhibitions there, they’re fantastic.

Ah, it’s the Ides Of March…

Picture time! This is the statue of Virginia Woolf on Richmond Riverside, just sitting on the bench, ready for a good chat. (Some people tried to oppose the statue, saying it would influence people to drown themselves in the river. Which is an odd interpretation of it)

Pretty picture for today…this was taken in the woodland gardens in Bushy Park in that very hot summer we had a couple of years ago

Picture time! This is from Hampton Court where the Georgian rooms are full of mannequins in paper clothes, some with labels on explaining who they represent. It’s really quite a fascinating effect, brings the rooms alive, although disconcerting when darkness falls…

Gave in to the temptation to buy books - Death at the Sanatorium by Ragnar Jonasson and Murder Mindfully by Karstrn Dusse. Plus an appropriate bookmark with a line from Shakespeare that I (being 5’ 2’’) like to quote - Though she be but little she is fierce

Have a picture taken at random from my photo library!

This is from when Hampton Court did a kind of festival of light thing - this one centred around mythical animals dotted all around the grounds of Hampton Court. It was beautiful.

Do you remember summer? And warmth? And sunshine and lying on your back in the park and looking into an endless blue sky as children played nearby and not one shiver was felt?

It’s February next week and the endless decade long January will be over. And then spring. And in the meantime - a reminder

Anyway…

Have a pretty sunny picture, to remind you spring will return. This is from the Japanese garden at Holland Park

Whenever I watch or read or listen to scary stories, I like to have a companion - my teddy bear Sebastian. He’s very comforting, if slightly nervous and wishes I’d go back to watching weaving videos.
