Across the country, Starbucks workers are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike for a fair first contract, and I know which side I’m on. Baristas make Starbucks an extraordinarily wealthy company. They are entitled to their fair share of that wealth and to benefits and fair treatment on the job.

Millions of toxic beads have escaped into the sea from Eastbourne sewage works. Southern Water have confirmed that some of the money to pay for the clean up will come from customers bills.

Eight people died in 2023 because of flooding caused by Storm Babet in the UK.

Those with the fewest resources will always bare the brunt of climate breakdown.

In the parish of St. Elizabeth there's no infrastructure that can withstand a category 5 hurricane. Some people have only just restored their homes destroyed by the last one.

Starbucks' unionized workers are holding a massive strike vote.

If approved, more than 12,000 baristas in 45 states and the District of Columbia could strike.

@sbworkersunited.org says the strike would be open-ended, potentially continuing through the holidays.
