Huh. Adding my postcode actually reduces the number of local results in a DDG search.

I tried the first Reddit screenshot I came across in my feed today, and got zero hits on DDG. The Reddit thread was result #2 on google, so my sense that DDG just isn't useful in this scenario remains strong.

On the topic of poorly-thought-out gun-shaped objects, I give you... Bubble Santa.
A photo of a fairly horrifying bubble gun on display in a discount shop. The gun is in Christmas-themed packaging and is shaped like Santa Claus lying along the top of the gun barrel in a "flying Superman" pose while also being part of the barrel. His gaping mouth contains the lime green outlet for the bubbles. The pistol handgrip is almost the same shade of red as Santa's suit, so on first glance it looks like he's bent over and humping the lime green bubble liquid reservoir bottle which the packaging has placed below him, in front of the trigger.

A clearly manipulated image shows a (very small) Mk1 Abrams tank attempting to climb out of the infamous Dashcon ballpit. The ballpit is a sad-looking inflatable blue/black kiddy pool less than half full of plastic balls. It sits in isolation on a dark concrete floor in a large, badly lit, beige-painted room. A distant empty chair is at the very edge of the image, near two widely spaced rubbish bins placed against the wall.

Riley has heard of pillows and thinks they sound like a great idea, but she may have missed some of the finer details.

I still have a photo from the evening of the 2021 Western Australia state election. I'll treasure it always.

Red is Labour seats, blue is Liberal (the conservative party, and the main opposition party up until this point), and green is the Nationals, who usually form a coalition with the Liberals.

The hands are still fucked up. The boyfriend's hand is growing out of the side of his forearm at 90⁰, and the wife's hand is as flat as a piece of paper and/or may be part of the baby's PJs.

This one was a year earlier, according to the timestamp. I give her a fresh box every now and then in the hope that she'll leave the rest of the house alone.
A brown tabby cat sits inside the remains of a cardboard moving box, licking her lips and staring at the camera with one eye closed so she looks like she's winking. The top and most of one side of the box are missing, with ragged edges where the cardboard has been torn away. The tile floor is littered with dozens of tiny cardboard pieces.

Laura would like to suggest cardboard box, for similar reasons.
A very alert tabby cat is sitting upright in a cardboard moving box with her head poking out the top. Some more of her body is visible through a 10cm wide vertical strip which is missing from the side of the box facing the camera. The edges of the missing strip and of the open box flaps are ragged, having been meticulously torn off and dropped on the floor in tiny pieces. The flap facing the camera is missing entirely. The cat is obviously proud of her handiwork.

This was a foster from a while ago, named Bella. She was restful to be sat on by. Sort of like a purring weighted blanket.

There's some forced perspective in this pic, but she definitely had "large breed" in her recent ancestry.

Photo shows the same shelves as before, but empty except for two books for scale. The shelves are all attached to two vertical pieces of wood, which, in turn, are supported by a French cleat which was hidden by the top row of books in the previous photo.

I made some which start far enough up the wall that the cats haven't knocked anything off it yet.
This was my test run made out of pine about a year ago, but I need to find a source of narrow hardwood planks before I make the permanent versions.
Photo shows 6 shelves spaced just far enough apart vertically to fit paperback novels. They are mounted on a wall with very little visible sign of what's holding them up.
