This has also happened to me with Katrina (they weren’t born yet) and the 2012 election (they were five) and 2016–the flood in LA, for example (they were nine).

Also, I was passive previously (like oh? I’m good. I have great media literacy skills). Our old tools no longer suffice—so I’m being active and learning new skills.
