We still have much work to do in the legislature and behind the scenes—but I am in awe of the bold activists and supporters who have been showing up for years in this struggle.

On Sunday, I brought forward a motion with @natalielingren to stand against genocide and apartheid, at home and around the world. The BC Greens are now the only anti-genocide political party in BC. This is a modest but important step.

The genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israeli state follows the same logic and has the same goal. Both Canada and Israel claimed to settle lands “without people” - an imaginary that required erasing those already there. Canada's silence on this genocide reflects our unresolved guilt.

Colonial violence has harmed people and land around the world. We have barely begun to reckon with our own country's bloody history of eradication and assimilation.

We can never undo the devastating impact of genocidal regimes, but we can work to educate, agitate, and build a world where everyone is truly free.

The fracked gas being exported is dirtier than coal, and Carney and Eby are pretending this is ‘clean growth’ while they gamble with our climate, taxpayer dollars, and Indigenous rights. It’s up to us to spook investors and thwart a final investment decision. /3

The Ksi Lisims terminal will be built in Korea and floated over, which means the steel and high-paid construction jobs are overseas. Meanwhile, British Columbians are stuck with the pollution and higher energy bills, but very few lasting local jobs. /3
