In the private sector, Bell Canada has a massive contract with Unifor, representing 3,500 crafts and services workers, expiring later this year.

Bell Canada just announced the largest round of layoffs in 30 years today, eliminating 4,800 positions throughout the company.

Federal sector union contracts with Canada Post, CBC and Via Rail are up this year.

We can expect federal politicans to juggle public pressure to appear worker friendly while using these conflicts to score political points and still maintain business class support.
