Sometimes we bury the past not because it's healed, but because today already asks too much of us. Adania Shibli captures something profound about collective memory and survival in her book "Minor Detail".

Loved 1984? Then you need The Queue by Basma Abdel Aziz on your TBR— #WomenInTranslation month! This Egyptian novel, written in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, captures how dystopian control works through making people complicit in their own confinement. The 'same lethargy' hits hard. #BookSky

This book made me fall in love with Jerusalem. One of the best books I’ve ever read - “City of Many Days”. Here’s why you should add it to your TBR list:

Found a gem in a local bookstore — “A Very Old Man Stories” by Italo Svevo. It’s a series of scenes and sketches that he was writing for his follow up to Zeno’s Conscience before he died. Svevo’s work was largely ignored until his English tutor, James Joyce, sent his writing to two critics. #Booksky

Coming soon: diving into Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being—a masterpiece that interrogates love, freedom, and the weight of our choices. This isn't just a story; it's a meditation on what it means to exist.

Full review soon.

Shakespeare's 'unpathed waters, undreamed shores' reminds us that every new beginning requires courage to face the unknown: the hardships are real, but so are the discoveries waiting.

There’s something profound about how life’s journey changes not just where we go, but how we see where we’ve been. All our exploring, learning, and growing brings us back to familiar places with fresh eyes.
What’s a place/moment that feels entirely different when you revisit it now?

Has anyone else read this yet? I can’t put it down. Definitely the best book I’ve read this year. Incredibly well-researched, beautiful writing and a moving storyline: highly recommend if you are looking for a new read.

Alqaisi's response to Darwish's "In Praise of the High Shadow" cuts with stark immediacy—rejecting symbols for the visceral reality of Palestinian loss. It demands we witness beyond flags & rhetoric, connecting us to lived grief that speaks to our shared humanity. #BookSky #Poem @arablit.bsky.social

In the time of your life, live so that you add joy not sorrow to this world. Seek goodness everywhere and let it shine freely. Remember: every person is a variation of yourself. Be gentle, be kind, but be unashamed of your light.
