Interesting thought. Tried writing comedy which is really hard! Much more comfortable with fantasy, free verse, or magical realism. Sci fi takes a lot of world building.

Enjoy some other art like music and let your mind recharge 😊 the words will come again.

I would say thematic for free verse unless you set boundaries on something like the meter/word count.

Love this! What could the unifying themes be? Transcendentalists are my favourite. The Digital Natives, Cloud Poets, Sky Writers etc. I was in a couple of virtual writing groups during the early days of the pandemic that really sparked ideas and connection.

Early influence was definitely Emily Dickinson. That gut-wrenching, staccato style. Many others since - Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath. Living poets I admire include Rupi Kaur and Amanda Gorman. Can free verse be defined? So many historical writing groups I would like to have been in!
