I made the NYT Cooking recipe for whole roasted quash with tomato-ginger chickpeas. We used butternut and acorn squash. Also used vegan Greek yogurt so Dax could eat it. I recommend the butternut squash over the acorn. My store didn't have any kabocha squash, but I'd like to try it sometime.

Elwood got a special wrap today so he would quit shaking his head long enough to let his ears heal. Two horrible ear infections and one of his ears was bleeding at the tip because he was shaking his head nonstop. We took the wrap off tonight and he's in a cone. His ear hair growth is ridiculous. 🙁

The other day I happened upon a burning car at a gas station in the minutes between the start of the fire and the arrival of the firefighters. I went back by a few hours later and got a picture of the husk of car leftover.

My dogs (littermates) love to be smushed together when getting pets. They love getting wedged between furniture so they can be smushed and petted at the same time. When you are petting one's head, he will try to smush his head into your body or push into your hand. Anybody else's dogs like this?

I gave my 8 year old nephew a book for Christmas (among other gifts). During the gift opening, he said thank you, but didn't focus on it (understandable). Later I asked my sister if he liked it. She said they read it for bedtime. Reader, he loved it.

This would be a lot cooler if someone hadn't scraped the moss off the tree for a photo background (or whatever).
